But at its heart, luxury is people: the creators, the visionaries, the guardians of tradition.
World Luxury Day is the first global, professional holiday for the entire luxury industry. It is a day dedicated to honoring the people, artistry, innovation, and ethical progress that define the world of luxury across all sectors. World Luxury Day was initiated by the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce (WLCC).
* In Latin, “lux” means light. Luxury endures as long as there are individuals who can ignite that light.

Why It Matters
World history is filled with new, remarkable events, because every day, people create their own. Behind all the successful luxury brands known today, there were ideas and people who believed in them.
World Luxury Day is a statement that luxury, first and foremost, is not about objects, but about passionate innovators, visionaries, and artisans, and the world they create evolves with humanity, embracing responsibility, ethics, and sustainability.

The story
World Luxury Day was founded by the WLCC as an initiative to launch the first-ever professional holiday dedicated to the luxury industry, transforming into a global celebration for everyone passionate about luxury.
“ I’ve been in the luxury business for over 17 years. In that time, I’ve met extraordinary people: professionals who live and breathe their craft, who truly love luxury. Yet I noticed something: unlike pilots, doctors, or lawyers, they didn’t have a professional holiday of their own. That felt unfair. So I thought: why not create one day that unites the entire industry and celebrates it worldwide?
I envision World Luxury Day as a global celebration where each sector showcases its uniqueness: fashion with shows or collaborations; hospitality with special packages; real estate with property viewings; and haute cuisine with tastings. The main goal is to honor craftsmanship, innovation, and unique experiences, but first and foremost, it’s a celebration for the people working in the luxury industry. “
